Onward to the future!

Hello:

Some reading this might wonder what we have in mind for this organization and its future?  This post is to explain future plans.

We are growing and we have setting up chapters for the NACSA high on our list.  We dearly wish for members to take an interest in setting up a way to socialize and learn in their own neighborhood.  We are working on this at the national headquarters - hoping a St. Petersburg, FL chapter can be a reality.  The best way to do this is to host stitch and talk sessions - or as some know them: Stitch and Bitch sessions.  Use the term you are most comfortable with.  You can find rooms to do this in at local libraries or even in an convenient Starbucks.  By setting a time for others to consider meeting to stitch some, you'll hopefully start getting into the cross stitch network in your neighborhood. Who knows? You might be the next President of the chapter!

Further into the future we plan on trying to have an on-line gallery for our members. This gallery will be perpetual in nature and it will be there so you can know your work will live on even after you are done stitching.  We hope to aggregate all the great work our members' do over time. It tells a story about each of us and it allows us to be proud of getting that last stitch into a beloved pattern. Eventually, this gallery will also be a part of our international museum of Cross Stitch.

This gets us to the next plan - the museum.  Our plans will take years to come to fruition, but we are steadfast in our mission to conserve as much as is sensible for us to preserve.  Additionally, we would like to have an area in the museum that highlights cross stitch across the ages.  This is a big reach, but I'm sure with steadfast members, we eventually will find a way to have this happen.

Lastly, we want to continue to offer classes in cross stitch and in the extra special stitches we are often called to use to finish off our works.  If you have an interest in teaching, please let us know at questions4nacsa@outlook.com.
